On March 4, 2023, the MISMO National Award Ceremony took place at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad. MISMO (Maarif Inter-School Math Olympiad) is a renowned mathematical competition in Pakistan that is organized by Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools & Colleges every year. Due to the devastating conditions caused by Covid-19 and the lockdown restrictions across the country, MISMO 2020 and 2021 were not conducted. MISMO 2022 was held all over Pakistan. It had the participation of 17,500 students representing 874 schools from both public and private educational institutes. The competition was conducted in 65 exam centres across 35 cities. MISMO National Awards Ceremony 2022 also featured the national anthems of both Pakistan and Türkiye, which symbolized the brotherly bond between the two nations and underscored the value of “Two Nations, One Future.”
MISMO 2022 offered distinctive rewards and prizes, such as the coveted title of “Al-Khwarizmi of Pakistan” which was awarded to the 1st position holder of Grade 8. Mr. Ahmed Hansat won 1st position and the prestigious title of “Al-Khwarizmi of Pakistan.” MISMO is an exceptional endeavor by Pak-Turk Maarif that strives to enhance logical reasoning abilities and intellectual expertise among students.
Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Mehmet Pacaçi, presided over the event as the Chief Guest, with attendees from both Türkiye and Pakistan. The aim of the MISMO National Awards Ceremony was to recognize and reward the winners and organizers of MISMO, with prizes and certificates presented to the intellectuals of mathematics. H.E Mehmet Pacaçi emphasized the significance of the strong relationship between Türkiye and Pakistan, symbolizing it as one of brotherhood.
Chairman of Pak-Turk International Maarif Harun Küçükaladağlı: “MISMO holds great significance as it provides a platform for students from both public and private sectors to demonstrate their mathematical proficiency and analytical skills. The competition also fosters teamwork by involving school management, teachers, and students from diverse academic backgrounds, encouraging them to participate and play a prominent role in this major event.”
The event was a spectacle, with talented children from Pak-Turk Maarif delivering delightful choir performances that left the audience enthralled. The announcement of various awards and positions added to the excitement, culminating with the declaration of the Al-Khwarizmi of Pakistan award.
